IRCA CERTIFIED OHSAS 18001 FOUNDATION TRAINING COURSE (COURSE CODE: OHS/1)

Course Introduction
The Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS) was developed in response to demand for a recognizable occupational health and safety management system standard against which a company’s management system can be assessed and certified.

OHSAS 18001 standard has been designed to be compatible with the ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental) management systems standards, in order to facilitate the integration of quality, environmental and OH&S management systems by organizations.  It is in fact applicable to any organization that wishes to establish an OH&S management system to eliminate or minimize risk to employees and other interested parties who may be exposed to OH&S risks associated with its activities.

Course Objective
This course enables delegates to acquire the basic concepts and general requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Management Specification, OHSAS 18001, its applications, as well as the benefits of implementation of the system. It is designed for the delegates who will be involved in implementing OH&S but with little or no experience as well as the Quality or Environmental managers who wish to establish OH&S at their workplace.
