Program Introduction This program is certified by ISCEA (International Supply Chain Education Alliance). ISCEA is a governing body for the Ptak Prize and his mission is to be a single source for Total Supply Chain Knowledge through Education, Certification, and Recognition. ISCEA is professionally worldwide.
Certified Lean Masters are change agents that deliver results in meeting business objectives and contribute significant improvement to an organization’s bottom line. They stimulate thinking by challenging conventional wisdom and providing options for the successful application of lean concepts across the supply chain from suppliers to customers and beyond.
Program Content
- A multi-session program with a complete package of education and coaching on the creation of lean supply chains.
- 3 educational sessions of 3 days each with a 4 week break between sessions for participants to apply the knowledge to their lean initiative.
- Participants improve one value stream at their organization, create quantifiable improvements, and begin seeing immediate results.
- A certification exam and the opportunity for participants to earn personal recognition as a Certified Lean Master.
Sessions A: Crafting a lean initiative and value stream mapping Discussions include the 5 principles of lean, value streams, the 7 types of waste, supply chain flows, building a business case, organizing for success, and value steam mapping. Participants leave with an initial project plan and a 30-day plan of attack.
Session B: Creating flow and leveraging pull Participants return and present their current state value stream. Discussions include kanban, the 5S system, six sigma, point of use, high flexibility scheduling, changeover reduction, kaizen, collaboration, and other topics related to creating flow and leveraging pull. Participants leave with an updated project plan and a new 30-day plan of attack.
Session C: Lean supply chains and the CLM exam Participants return and present their progress in creating flow and leveraging pull. Discussions include mass customization, total landed cost, new product development, supply chain audits, and other topics related to lean supply chains. Participants take the CLM exam and leave with an updated project plan and a new 30-day plan of attack.

About the facilitator Mike Sheahan, CLM, CSCM, CFPIM, CIRM Mike Sheahan is the former International President of APICS. Mike has worked with companies such as Caterpillar, ConAgra, ABB, Gardner Denver, and Hayes Wheels with ERP assessments and implementations, educational programs, and management of supply chain improvement and lean initiatives. He is an expert in providing programs to support their performance objectives. He is an ISCEA & APICS organizations with crafted educational Qualified Instructor. Mike is a frequent presenter at international and local events.
Exam and Certificate Delegates who successfully completed the course and passed the continuous assessment & written examination will be issued a Certificate of Successful Completion by ISCEA.
