BALANCED SCORECARD APPLICATION IN INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT (MGT/5)
The balanced scorecard is a management tool that enables organizations to deploy their vision and strategy and translate them into action. It provides feedback around both the internal business processes and external outcomes in order to continuously drive strategic performance and results. When fully employed, balanced scorecard transforms strategic planning and development model into the nerve centre for performance indication and decision making of the enterprise.
This course fulfills 3 elective credits towards the Diploma in Integrated Management (MGT/1).
Aims and Objectives: This program aims to enable delegates to understand the principles of the balanced scorecard system, the methodologies to develop KPIs with respect to individual perspective including customers’ perspective on the company and any areas that the company may consider to have an effect on its business. It will equip delegates with knowledge on strategy planning, and how to use the management tool to benchmark and report performance.

- What is balanced scorecard? (1 hr)
- The four perspectives of balanced scorecard (3 hrs)
- Strategy management and balanced scorecard, concepts and principles (4 hrs)
- Balanced scorecard, tools and techniques (4 hrs)
- Indicator development in balanced scorecard (4 hrs)
- Balanced scorecard implementation (4 hrs)
- Balanced scorecard applications in other perspectives (4 hrs).
Who Should Attend: Managers, staff and individuals who need:
- to design, plan, manage and implement corporate strategies,
- to design, manage and report corporate performance, and
- to set up and/or implement integrated management system
Class Meeting and Contact hours:
- A total of 24 contact hours of lectures and workshops.
- Class Meeting will be held in 3 days from 0830 to 1900 with workshops, assignments and coaching, or in 8 evening sections with 3 hours per evening.
- Workshops and class assignments will be served, practised and discussed.
Assessment and Award of Certificate:
- Students are required at least 80% attendance of the course.
- An 1-hour written examination will be held at end of the course to assess the performance of the students.
- Students will have to pass the written examination with a score of not less than 70%. Scores between 60 and 76 will be reviewed by a second marker.
- One re-sit of examination is permitted
- Passes on the course will be awarded a Certificate designating successful completion of the course.
