Oct 2007 Softlines Forum 2007 - 'Corporate Sustainability – The Trends, The Rules, The Ways'

As a quality assurance partner to the industry, SGS is devoted to the sustainable development of industry and takes the initiative for organizing the Softlines Forum, not only in HK but also in Shanghai, India, US and Europe.

The title for this year’s forum was ‘Corporate Sustainability – The Trends, The Rules, The Ways’ that carried two broad areas of ‘corporate compliance’ and ‘sustainable textiles’ which had been discussed in the forum.

Co-organised with CITA, the Forum was successfully launched in Hong Kong Polytechnic University on 16 October 2007. The industry experts and scholars had delivered insightful presentations and the active participation of attendees was pivotal to engendering a lively public debate.

SGS was grateful to the speakers who offered their insights in the topics discussed. Special acknowledgment should be extended to the industry magazine “Fashion Technology” as our official supporting media in the Forum.

Interstoff Asia Essential - Autumn 2007

SGS was invited to speech a presentation at Interstoff Asia Essential - Autumn 2007 that held by Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd. at HKCEC on 4 Oct 2007.

The presentation provided audiences a systematic approach to limiting restricted substances in textile products, which includes:

  1. How EU new chemical policy governs restricted substances in textile products?
  2. Various definitions of Eco textiles
  3. Tools for restricted substances control
  4. Tips for implementation of the control strategy, from source control to finding a substitution



Aug 2007 International Conference & Exhibition of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products (ICMCM) 2007

SGS exhibited at the ICMCM that was held at the HKCEC from 16 to 20 Aug 07. During the fair, we delivered not only our one-stop solutions to Chinese Medicine, Healthcare & Pharmaceutical products, but also our experience and knowledge to the industry.

A not-to-be-missed section was our presentation on “Registration & Regulatory Affairs Update on Chinese Medicine and Healthcare Products towards Local & Overseas Markets” in the Business Exchange Forum.
