Environment Policy

We are committed to minimizing our environmental impact through the adoption of sustainable practices and continuous improvement in environmental performance.

In all of our operations we will be guided by the founding principle of sustainable development, namely, meeting the needs of the present without compromising future generations. In this regard we commit to:

• The prevention of pollution
• Minimizing our impact on the environment

In particular, we will contribute to initiatives that seek to address climate change.

These commitments apply to all employees of the SGS Group, our joint venture partners, agents, intermediaries, consultants and subcontractors. Additionally, we undertake to use our best endeavours to ensure that our business partners also abide by this policy.
Senior management is responsible for ensuring compliance with this policy, including but not limited to the establishment of programs and compliance with reporting requirements. Sustainability, however, is the responsibility of all of us, at every level within our organization.

The Chief Executive Officer of SGS is ultimately responsible for this policy and the company’s environmental performance and is assisted by the Sustainability Steering Committee, which oversees the implementation of all social and environmental programmes within SGS.

We will publish details of our environmental performance in our sustainability report, at a minimum, on an annual basis.
